On day 2 of stackconf we were again warmly welcomed and perfectly guided through the day by our webinar guru Christian Stein who was of course joined by CEO Bernd Erk. And no, we are not sponsored by the Muppet Show. 😉 At this point, again a big thank you to all our speakers for their great contributions and to all our participants who filled the chat channels with facts and a lot of life and fun! Today we also had many talks from great speakers! So let's see what we were able to learn......

stackconf online – Recap of Day 01
It finally happened - after months of preparation, today was the first day of the very first stackconf online! Getting Started For the most attendees, online conferences are a new experience too. The Events team of NETWAYS did a great job in picking up every attendee and providing all the required information just in time. Besides the link to the conference stream, attendees received login data to attend multiple live chats. Starting Day 1 at stackconf felt almost like entering a conference...
OSMC 2019 – Day 2
The social event yesterday evening was a blast and the late lounge afterwards also a must. So while some were still recovering, the room for the first talk was already quite full. This showed the interest in Jochen Kressin's talk about "Zero Trusted Networks – why Perimeter Security is dead". He explained the (old) assumption of perimeter security "I am behind a firewall, so my traffic is secure" and asked the question if this is still true. Showing examples proving it is not true anymore...
OSMC 2019 – Day 1
As always OSMC started with the workshop day. This time the topics were Prometheus given by Julian Pivotto, Gitlab by Michael, Terraform by Lennart and Foreman by me. After the workshops with coming together for dinner and some drink social networking started, one of things I enjoy most at conferences nowadays. Day one started also like every time with a warm welcome from Bernd. Quite unexpected for me was the high number of first time attendees who raised hands when Bernd asked. It is always...
Foreman’s 10th birthday – The party was a blast
I can still remember when Greg had the idea of celebrating the Foreman's Birthday four years ago and I volunteered to organize the German one. After two editions and with Foreman being covered on the Open Source Camp last year I asked for others to run the party. And with ATIX doing a great job I asked them to team up on this. So we have grown a great community event with the annual Birthday party. This year was different to the ones before because we had such a big support by Red Hat. The new...
Foreman's 8th birthday – How was the party?
As you may remember we gave the Foreman Project another party to celebrate its 8th birthday, so now it is time for a small recap. At 12:30 I welcomed a group of about 20 people for the event coming mostly from Southern Germany, but with Ewoud Kohl van Wijngaarden coming down from the Netherlands we had again at least one international guest. Afterwards we started with the hands-on session. This session was planned as a completely open session, so some discussions and hacking started while...
