Last week, we hosted the Open Source Monitoring Conference – the 19th edition already. Sophia, Alvar, and Dirk have summarized the single conference days in separate blogposts: Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

Today, you’ll get a special insight about what happened at OSMC behind the scenes and how our crew made the event happen.

Markus and Lukas…

… (the main organizers) spent months preparing for the event. They organized the conference venue and everything related to the speakers, participants and sponsors. They also planned the evening event at KORN’S including the Drift Event.

Once on site, the real work began. On Monday afternoon, they set up the four workshop rooms, which were converted back into two lecture rooms on Tuesday evening in preparation for the following day. They also organized the setup of the activity room and took care of all the last-minute tasks that came up.

Katja and Sophia…

… from the Marketing team also had months of work behind them. Once on site, they kicked things off by checking in the participants who already arrived on Tuesday. During the conference days, their main job was posting live updates on social media – on the OSMC LinkedIn and Bluesky account. Feel free to check them out for lots of great behind-the-scenes moments!

Our Professional Photographer Thilo…

… was also busy capturing the event – all day long, on both conference days. His photos will be available soon in our archives on the website.

Stay tuned!

Part of our Crew…

… were also our moderators Bernd, Lucy, Leander, Daniel, Christoph, Feu, Lorenz, and Blerim – who guided everyone through the two days of the conference.

And of course, our camera team recorded all the talks so you can watch them afterwards. Huge thanks to Fabian, Marcel, Abhishekh, Oleksandr, Alina, and Alexander! Meanwhile, Christian made sure all the technical equipment was running smoothly at all times.

Besides all the Main Work…

… at the conference, our team also used the chance to take on a few challenges in the activity room — sometimes against each other, sometimes against our attendees. The results were… let’s say, mixed. Special respect goes to the crew from Schwäbisch Hall — their table football skills were insane, and they were simply unbeatable.

Thanks to our Whole Team…

… for making OSMC 2025 such a successful event. It’s always a lot of work and effort, but it’s absolutely worth it!

We’re already looking forward to next year, when we’ll celebrate the 20th edition of OSMC from November 17–19.

Stay tuned – more updates are coming soon!
