The first day of OSMC 2025 is behind us. Today marked the start of this year’s three-day conference here at the Holiday Inn Nuremberg City Centre. As usual, Day 1 focused on workshops, followed by a Welcome Dinner in the evening. The main conference program with talks and tomorrow’s evening event will follow over the next two days.
Workshops
This morning, participants joined one of four workshops:
- Ansible Collection Icinga – Building the Stack
- From Zero Observability to Zero-Code Observability with OpenTelemetry
- Mastering Git and GitLab
- Visualize Data with Grafana
Each workshop offered practical insights, hands-on exercises, and room for discussion. The groups worked through their topics with focus and curiosity throughout the day. Thanks to everyone who took part and spent their day with us!
Check-In
In the afternoon, we opened our check-in desk and the most attendees arrived. We welcomed familiar faces as well as newcomers who will be joining us for the next two days.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and many took the chance for initial conversations before the Welcome Dinner.
It was a smooth and steady start into this year’s conference.
Welcome Dinner
For guests who traveled from farther away, the Welcome Dinner at the hotel restaurant provided a pleasant finishing touch to Day 1. Good food, a calm setting, and the opportunity to meet other participants made it a nice way to settle in before the conference picks up pace tomorrow.

With the workshops completed, we now move toward the main part of OSMC 2025. The upcoming two days are filled with talks and insights from the monitoring and open-source community.
